Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris born October 20th 1964) is an American politician and lawyer who is currently the 49th vice-president of the United States. She is the first woman to be elected vice president, and she is also the most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a senator and former senator from California. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General of California. She was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California from 2017-2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her sharp questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
