Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC, born on March 4, 1954 is an actress from Canada. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous distinctions, including a Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also was awarded two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was elected to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first made her appearance as an actor in 1974 as in The Second City, an improv comedy group in Toronto. She was a part of the principal cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. In the following year, O'Hara and Candy began work on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew praise from critics for her work as a comic actress as well as a writer, securing an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was part of the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board and was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
